Senate Bill No. 3112 Day of Goodwill Act
The bill seeks to declare December 26 as a national special non-working holiday, to be known as ‘Filipino Day of Goodwill’, which is patterned after the so-called “Second Christmas Day” or “Boxing Day” in several counties where gifts and alms are distributed to the poor a day after Christmas. This bill also aims to give enough time for our citizens to travel and prepare for work on the next working day, since more often than not, they can only conveniently wind up their holiday celebrations by Christmas day’s end.

The bill seeks to uplift the economic well-being of teachers by increasing the minimum salary grade of public school teachers from salary grade 11 to 15, and adjusting the salary grade levels of those occupying higher positions.

Senate Bill No. 2929 An Act Amending Section 61 of Local Government Code of 1991
The bill seeks to amend Section 61 of RA 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, thereby proposing that complaint against any elective official of a component city should be filed before the Sangguiang Panlalawigan and not with the Office of the President. The proposal is grounded on the reason that under the concept of devolution, a component city is under the administrative and disciplinary jurisdiction of the province where it is geographically located.
