Marcos hits Aquino’s ‘selective justice’

Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. criticized President Benigno Aquino III’s handling of the case of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, calling it “a bit of a mess.”

“Hindi maayos ang pag-handle dito. Hindi yata nila napag-isipan at napagplanuhan ng maigi kung ano ang kanilang gagawin,” Marcos said in an interview Tuesday.

Senate reso declares Nov. 23 as National Day to End Impunity

Senators Joker Arroyo and Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., for their part, said the Aquino administration should exert the same effort it did with filing the case against former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in resolving the Maguindanao massacre.

“They should use the same amount, if not more, of energy, focus, and determination that they used in nailing GMA, in speeding up the cases of the Ampatuan massacre and give cause for the entire country to extol the delivery of justice for the families of the victims and bring the guilty to jail to pay for this shameful and horrendous crime,” Marcos said in a statement Wednesday.

Bongbong: PNoy has ‘selective’ justice

MANILA, Philippines – A senator who belongs to the Aquino family’s rival clan described President Aquino’s administration as “very selective” in applying justice.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. compared the slow pace at which the Maguindanao massacre trial has been moving with the haste in the recent filing of an electoral sabotage case against former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Marcos also criticized the government’s handling of the Arroyo case as “a bit of a mess,” particularly because of the Justice department’s defiance of a Supreme Court order allowing Arroyo and her husband, Jose Miguel, to go abroad.

Gobyernong Aquino kinastigo ni Marcos

Tinawag ni Marcos ang P-Noy administration sa pagiging mapagpili at partisano sa mga kasong nais nilang ipatupad.

“They are very selective in their application of the use of power of the executive and that selection is according to political and partisan consideration,” sabi ni Marcos.

Inihalimbawa ng batang senador ang kaso ng Maguindanao Massacre na dalawang taon nang ginugunita ngayon.

‘Anti-epal’ bill tackled by Senate

Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr., a former congressman and governor of Ilocos Norte, suggested that the measure should provide protection to local law enforcement officers, who might be tapped to implement it.

“It would be very difficult for the local police to tear down the signage. We probably have to give them some kind of special protection… and support if they are going to go against their local masters,” he said.

In some cases, a “signage costs more than the actual project,” the senator noted.
