
Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Chairman of the Committee on Local Government, has delivered today, May 16, the sponsorship speech on House Bill 5917, which seeks to convert the town of Ilagan of the province Isabela into a component city.
“This bill is endowed with an overwhelming support from the municipality’s agri-fisherfolks, cooperatives, women, youth, elderly folks, and other sectors coming from the 91 barangays of Ilagan,” Senator Marcos said.
Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Chairman of the Urban Planning, Housing and Resettlement, has delivered today, May 15, the sponsorship speech on Senate Bill 3199, which seeks to create the Department of Housing and Urban Development (DHUD).
“This bill will address the issue of shelter as one of the government’s priorities to improve the quality of Filipino families. DHUD will provide long-term solutions in designing and managing disaster resilient, competitive, inclusive, and sustainable communities,” Senator Marcos said.
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Government, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. played a pivotal role in the passage of Senate Bills 2761 and 2931, and House Bills 4730 and 4729, converting the municipalities of Imus and Bacoor into component cities to be known as the City of Imus and City of Bacoor, respectively. These bills became Republic 10161 and 10160 after signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on April 11, 2012.
